Market Closure Schedule

Schedule of Recommended Closings of the Domestic Bond and Money Markets

The Investment Industry Association of Canada’s (IIAC) Debt Markets Committee announces the following schedule for closing the domestic bond and money markets in 2017. The market closes are recommendations only and are subject to change. Member firms are individually responsible for deciding whether their fixed-income desks remain open for trading.

IIAC recommends closing completely the bond and money markets for the following holidays in Canada:

Civic Holiday Monday, August 7, 2017
Labour Day Monday, September 4, 2017
Thanksgiving Day Monday, October 9, 2017
Remembrance Day Monday, November 13, 2017 (in lieu of Saturday, November 11)
Christmas Day Monday, December 25, 2017
Boxing Day Tuesday, December 26, 2017

Early closings for the domestic bond and money markets generally precede a full closing. For 2017, IIAC recommends an early close (1:00 pm ET.) on the following dates:
