BMO Capital Markets announced that its 2021 Equity Through Education trading day, held on September 22, 2021, raised C$1.6 million toward educational assistance for students in North America and the UK.

Every year BMO donates 100 per cent of one day’s institutional equity trading commissions in North America and Europe to charities that provide scholarships, bursaries, mentoring programs and development opportunities to underprivileged students to help them achieve their potential.

Active Supporter of the Arts

In Canada, BNP Paribas helps promote and foster Canadian art and culture through various sponsorship programs and corporate partnerships. BNP is an active supporter of important cultural institutions such as the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, Montreal Symphony Orchestra, and Crow’ Theatre in Toronto.

In addition, Dream Up, an international program of the BNP Paribas Foundation active in 30 countries including Canada, has provided opportunities to more than 55,000 disadvantaged schoolchildren to engage in artistic activities such as music, singing, theater, dance, and visual arts. In Canada, for its first edition of Dream Up, the bank partnered with Les Grands Ballets Canadiens. For its second edition of Dream Up, the bank collaborated with the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts.

Charity Day

Every year, Cantor Fitzgerald and its affiliates, BGC Partners and GFI Group, in conjunction with the Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund, commemorate its 658 friends and colleagues and 61 Eurobrokers employees who perished on September 11, 2001 by distributing 100% of its global revenues on Charity Day to the Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund and dozens of charities around the world. Since its inception, Charity Day has raised approximately $180 million globally. Charity Day 2021 was held on Friday, September 10.

CIBC

Supporting Communities and Causes Across Canada

CIBC remains committed to investing in Indigenous communities through annual contributions of more than $1.8M supporting scholarships and partnerships like the CIBC STEM Learning Fund with Connected North. On September 29, 2021, CIBC announced an additional $50,000 donation to the Orange Shirt Society, an organization working to support Survivors of the residential school system in Canada.  

Every year, on the first Wednesday of December, the CIBC Capital Markets team and CIBC Wood Gundy Investment Advisors donate their fees and commissions to help kids in need. Since its inception, CIBC Miracle Day has raised over $110 million for children’s charities across Canada.

The CIBC Run for the Cure is the country’s largest single day event in support of the breast cancer cause. In partnership with the Canadian Cancer Society, more than $56 million has been raised over the last 24 years.
