AGF Announces Multi-Year Partnership Inspire to Create the AGF Scholarship Fund for Indigenous Students

The AGF Scholarship Fund for Indigenous Students will create four scholarships annually for Indigenous students who are entering a Business program at a Canadian accredited college or university.

Beacon Scholarship Fund

The Beacon Scholarship Fund provides a select number of Regent Park School of Music (RPSM) students graduating each academic year with financial assistance to help complete their upcoming post-secondary education.

Bloom Burton Award

Bestowed annually, the Bloom Burton Award honours an individual scientist, inventor, executive, entrepreneur, industry leader, or policy maker who made the greatest contribution to Canada’s innovative healthcare industry in the previous year.

Equity Through Education Program

BMO Capital Markets announced that its 2021 Equity Through Education trading day, held on September 22, 2021, raised C$1.6 million toward educational assistance for students in North America and the UK.

Every year BMO donates 100 per cent of one day’s institutional equity trading commissions in North America and Europe to charities that provide scholarships, bursaries, mentoring programs and development opportunities to underprivileged students to help them achieve their potential.

Charity Day

Every year, Cantor Fitzgerald and its affiliates, BGC Partners and GFI Group, in conjunction with the Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund, commemorate its 658 friends and colleagues and 61 Eurobrokers employees who perished on September 11, 2001 by distributing 100% of its global revenues on Charity Day to the Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund and dozens of charities around the world. Since its inception, Charity Day has raised approximately $180 million globally. Charity Day 2021 was held on Friday, September 10.

Supporting economic prosperity for Indigenous peoples in Canada

CIBC remains committed to investing in Indigenous communities through annual contributions of more than $1.8M supporting scholarships and partnerships like the CIBC STEM Learning Fund with Connected North. On September 29, 2021, CIBC announces an additional $50,000 donation to the Orange Shirt Society, an organization working to support Survivors of the residential school system in Canada.

Legacy of Hope Foundation

CWB has donated $20,000 to the Legacy of Hope Foundation (LHF), part of a pledge announced in June 2021 to provide immediate new funding to a national organization that aids reconciliation in Canada, educates, and builds awareness about the impacts of the Residential School System. The LHF will use the funding to develop materials that informs Canadians about Indigenous history and solutions that further equality, hope and healing.

Together For Our Youth Program

Desjardins Group continues its support to youth by investing a total of $2.55 million in donations, grants, scholarships and sponsorships amid the new school year. To help during these difficult and uncertain times, as the pandemic continues to strongly impact young people, Desjardins is participating in a variety of national and local initiatives aimed to bring youth and communities together including the Student Technology Donation Program, Relay for Life, Jump Rope for Heart, and the Desjardins Foundation. The Together For Our Youth program dedicates $50 million a year towards empowering young people by supporting education, community participation, employment and physical and mental health.

Echelon Impact Day

On October 7th, 2021, Echelon will inaugurate an annual Echelon Impact Day. This year it is partnering with Women’s College Hospital Foundation to raise $100,000 to address a nation-wide, under-researched, under-reported criminal activity that has serious lifelong consequences for its victims. Sex trafficking is a growing concern across the country and affects people from all walks of life, with the vast majority being girls and women under 24.



IG Walk for Alzheimers

Thanks to walkers and supporters, the IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s raised more than $5.2M this year. These funds ensure that Canadians affected by dementia have access to vital services from the Alzheimer Society to help them better manage the disease and live life to the fullest.



iA Financial Group Philanthropic Contest

The Accalmie suicide prevention centre received a $100,000 donation helping them increase their presence in the community even more.
